Set Network printer permissions in Windows(gagabaig)

First we have to get to Printers and Faxes properties.
Go to the start menu
Choose Printers and Faxes from there. If it is not there, choose control panel
Then double click on Printers and faxes
Now you will see the printers that are installed on your computer
Right click on the printer you want to set permissions for
From the menu you can choose properties
You simply go to the Security tab. You will see a list of users to set permissions for.
If you make Everyone Blue, then below you can tick the boxes to set printer sharing permissions.
The average user only needs to be able to print.

For an administrator, it is set by default to let them change any settings and basically be in control of the network printer. See the settings below.

How to see what files a computer is sharing on your home network(gagabaig)

Go to the start menu
Choose My Network places, a dialog box will appear
Under the heading of Network Tasks, choose View workgroup computers computers

Now you will be able to see the computers on your network.
Double click on the one you want to open. I am going to double click on Server. (That is the name of the computer)

Now you will see what that actual computer is sharing.

Notes:

If you are on Windows Vista your network will be called MSHOME by default. WORKGROUP is for Windows XP. Here's how to share between XP and VISTA.
If there are no files to view then there is nothing shared on that computer.
If access is denied to that computer, file sharing is not enabled on that computer.

How To Enable Printer and File Sharing on your home network

First we have to get to Printers and Faxes properties.
Go to the start menu
Choose Printers and Faxes form there. If it is not there, choose control panel
Then double click on Printers and faxes
Now you will see the printers that are installed on your computer
Right click on the printer you want to share
From the menu you can choose either properties or sharing...
You simply go to the Sharing tab and choose to share the printer. You can also rename your printer here.
Go here to install the network printer on the other computers in your network.

How to enable File Sharing on your computer on your home network

If I wanted to share My Pictures folder with everyone on the network I would do this:

Open My Documents Folder (Usually can find in the start menu)
Find the My Pictures folder and right click on it. A menu will appear
Choose Sharing and security
Click on share this folder
It will fill in the name for you
Then press permissions button
Here you can tick which one you want. If you only want people to see but not touch the files choose read only. If you want to all full control tick that.
Then click apply and ok
Click apply and Ok again

How to shutdown computer in 5 Seconds (gagabaig)

Follow the steps:
1. Open 'Windows Task Manager' (Ctrl+Alt+Del)

2. Click 'Shutdown' (at the top next to 'Help')

3. Then HOLD the 'Ctrl' key and Select 'Turn Off'.

4. ...5...4....3....2...1....You PC turns off immidiately.

I always do this when im in a rush etc.. It doesn't effect the PC.
